Train the mind

Free the performance

Nothing happens independent of a mindset

Performance is deeply connected to mindset, identity, preparation, and emotional regulation - whether in sports, business, or everyday life.

My goal is to help athletes, teams, coaches, leaders, and organizations strengthen the internal foundation that sustainable performance is built.

Work with me

A man in a Seattle Mariners jacket and cap stands with arms crossed at a baseball game, looking attentive, with stands and spectators blurred in the background.

I played seven years of pro baseball and spent most of it stuck in my own head. The mental side was the part nobody taught me how to handle, and it shortened my career. Now I help athletes, leaders, and coaches train the part of performance that decides the big moments: the breath, the nervous system, and a steady sense of who you are when the pressure climbs.

Everyone speeds up differently, so I build everything around the person in front of me.

Organizations I have worked with:

Logo of the Seattle Mariners baseball team featuring a large letter S, a compass rose with a baseball, and blue and teal colors.
San Diego State University athletics logo with red background and initials 'S' and 'J' in white and black.
Nevada fire rescue emblem with a firefighter helmet, a Dalmatian, and firefighting tools

"Bern had a tremendous impact on our program this season and quickly became a trusted resource for both our players and staff. His ability to build authentic confidence, improve communication, and provide practical mental performance tools gave our players strategies they could immediately apply, leading to noticeable growth on the court. Bern also provided valuable support and perspective for me as a head coach, and I would strongly recommend him to any organization looking to strengthen culture, leadership, and performance.”
